Dan (Burdekin) and Peter(Leonard) Ride a 2up 10M on Saturday 17 March

The first day of my season (Dan Burdekin) was forecast to be a wet afternoon, but the weather was on our side as it turned out a still afternoon with very little wind and just a few damp patches. It looked like a a fast day!!.

It was a 2up 10M TT with fast man Pete Leonard, on the garstang course up and down the A6. There were some very fast guys in the field on the day! As the time came to get to the start line I had a short conversation with fellow TTers as they clocked a 23:16: I thought wow, that is a fast time! must be a fast day!

Very nervous as we approached the start line getting ready for some fast miles! We set off at a measured pace (as you do!) soon speeding up to the first climb and smashing it down hill hitting 34mph. Aapproaching the half way point we saw our "2min men". Wow! I thought we must be going some to be catching these guys! On the return leg it was fast as ever!

Approaching the finish line I thought nearly there now!! Legs aching but a nice ache to know I made it round in one piece!! Stopping my garmin it showed the time "23:07". Wow, what a fast time for March!! Beating my brother (Matt Burdekin)  in the process who got a good time of 23:41. The winning time was 20:25!! from Preston Wheelers. Great start to the season and looking forward to Jodrell Bank next saturday for a 25m TT with Colin Balwin and Richard Carey! Thanks to Peter for a great ride!
