Lennie's Brother in Aus - Team FRA News Update No 20Lennie's brother wrote (click the picture to enlarge) must be famous now, CHECK OUT THE GUY ON THE RIGHT…………… Hi Team This is the last email of the season. The final race of the season was a beauty! Three of our 4 men were in the top 10 with Mark getting a 6th, Scud a 8th and Lorne a 9th, John was also in the mix. Well done to them all for bringing the season to a finish on such a high. Results here According to the VLCC, in the final results for the Crit series we came 8th with 386 points. But I am sure they made a mistake on the night when tallying the results, this is because Mark, Scud and Lorne all placed to earn us an extra 10 points while the McNeil logistics who were 3 points behind us only managed one placing on the night, (and that was 2nd place for an extra 9 points), so there is no way they could have jumped over us on the table. I have written to the VLCC to point this out and have asked them to retally the points from last weeks race. I believe we came in 7th. In the individual points division, Mark was our highest place getter with 60 points, Scud on 56 points and Frank on 50 points. I have attached the link to the complete results below. I have also attached a team pic from the night. As agreed at the post race dinner, we will spilt the $100 prize money between all 8 team members, that is $12.50 each. Happy to do it in cash when I see you each over the next few weeks. I would like to thank you all for being part of the team, and for giving it your best every race. We only had one crash during the series when John went down, but fortunately he was not too badly hurt, and showed real guts by borrowing Franks bike in order to finish the race and claim his points for the team. None of our team were lapped during the season which was good too. I know we all did our bit, gave our all each race, but I would like to particularly thank our sprinters, Mark and Scud, who by regularly gaining extra points, made it possible for the team to place and therefore for us all to win some prize money. I will be looking to put another FRA team together for the next season which starts in October and runs over the summer of 2012-13. I would be very happy if you would consider taking part as a team member next season. I think we learnt a lot this year and considering it was out first shot at being part of a crit team, we did pretty well. The lessons we learnt will come in handy and will be built on next time around. This Wed the 14th Mar is the final race of the year for the individual grades, and as usual, I will be out there in the D-grade, it might just be my week! Hope to see you then, if not, then out on the road sometime soon. Cheers Ron. |
