Tour of Britain Road Race 2012

This years Tour of Britain is visiting our local area twice and we have the chance to cheer on Bradley Wiggins and co as they race on roads familiar to many of us.

On Monday 10th September Stage 2 ends in Knowsley Safari Park.

It is planned to have a normal club run on this day with a café stop at Fettlers or Cedar Farm. Then either continue to Billinge/Rainford to catch the race as it passes 1.30pm/1.40pm or carry on to Knowsley for the finish at 2.15pm

Stage 4 on Wednesday 12th September finishes on the Promenade at Blackpool at approximately 2.35pm.

The Audax section are planning a 200km ride on this day leaving Southport at 8.00am  travelling to Knott End & Bolton le Sands to arrive in Caton or Quernmore and catch the riders as they pass between 1.30pm-1.40pm before returning via Billinge to Southport.
